THE PROJECT

COLLABORATION WITH JAGRITI FOUNDATION

We work with Indian grassroot organizations with female empowerment and education at their core. Funds are raised to support these organizations to achieve their goals. In June 2018 we established our first collaboration with the Jagriti Foundation based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. During our visits to India, we saw schools that were established by Jagriti and also looked at backgrounds and living conditions of the girls. Information with regards to financial figures, transparency values and principles and ideas for joint program development were exchanged. Based on all this information and our on-site experiences we chose to support 1 of the 12 schools that are supported and run by Jagriti, the Balika Sadan School in the center of Jaipur, an all-girls school:

  • CURRENTLY 219 GIRLS ENROLLED
  • SET UP IN 2014
  • SCHOOL IS BASED IN A REFURBISHED ORPHANAGE
  • 5 MINUTES WALKING DISTANCE FROM KATHPUTHLI SLUM, JAIPUR
  • PUPILS FROM THIS SLUM ARE ENROLLED IN THIS SCHOOL
  • PUPILS RECEIVE EDUCATION, MATERIALS, FOOD AND CLOTHING FOR FREE

  • AVERAGE YEARLY COSTS FOR A GIRL TO GO TO SCHOOL: €300 (this includes reccurring costs such as midday meals and teacher salary as well as cost per capita
like creating a coverage for a playground)
